At the Rock we will be talking about preparing the way of the Lord. Isaiah 40 says “A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. 5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together.” Luke 1 says, “And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” As we read these verses, we need to do two things; prepare ourselves and others for the return of Jesus Christ. This involves making Jesus first in our lives and living in such a way others will want the same. We have to ask ourselves are we prepared to meet Jesus face to face in judgment on that final day. Remember that final day is your death (meaning after you die you will not have another chance to repent) or Jesus returning. What are we doing to help prepare others for this day? Most importantly do others see Christ in us and want the same. May today be a day of introspection (self examination) as you reflect on whether you are prepared or not.
