Complete Lunarcy
No I did not misspell the word; it is a combination of two words; lunar and lunacy. The word lu·nar means “determined by, relating to, or resembling the moon.” The word lu·na·cy means the state of being a lunatic; foolish or senseless behaviour, extreme folly or eccentricity. synonyms: folly, foolishness, stupidity, silliness, idiocy, madness, recklessness, foolhardiness, imprudence, irresponsibility. "the lunacy of gambling" Proverbs 1-9 has a lot to say about this topic of folly and following the wrong path. In our ladies study we are talking about eschatology due to some of the recent predictions concerning the last days, rapture and the millennium both of which will not happen as many pre-tribbers and pre-millennialists say it will. The second coming yes but not the rapture or millennium. I said in this area of eschatology, “There are varying degrees of lunacy. From the sort of nuts to all out lunatics.” During this last month (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, super-moon) there have been lots of predictions about the end of the world and the rapture. “In September, Nasa released a statement stressing it was “unlikely” Earth would be destroyed by an asteroid in 2015.”
One person summed up these predictions while making another said, “It seems that every few years, there are end-of-the-world predictions that fail to materialize, much to the embarrassment of the false seers who spread and promote them. Y2K, the Mayan Apocalypse and the Harold Camping predictions are just some of the more recent failed doomsday prophecies that have littered the pages of human history. However, there is a growing sentiment among eschatologists, biblical scholars and even some secular groups that the world is in for a significant and potentially catastrophic change on or around September 23, 2015. The September 2015 prediction has gained traction in recent years, thanks in part to the Blood Moon Tetrad that is set to complete its cycle on September 28, 2015. In addition, there have been other startling indications that many individuals and groups in positions of power have been well aware of what is to come for quite some time. The exact specifics are not fully known, but there appears to be a consensus that multiple, world-changing events (natural, man-made and spiritual) will take place in rapid succession both before, during and after the September 23rd date.”
John Hagee and Mark Biltz have theorized through terrible exegesis of the passage of Joel that this is significant. They took part of the passage as literal but left out the army of the Lord of which this passage refers to and they butchered Acts 2. Around 2008, Biltz began predicting that the Second Coming of Jesus would occur in the fall of 2015 with the seven years of the great tribulation beginning in the fall of 2008. He said he had "discovered" an astronomical pattern that predicted the next tetrad would coincide with the end times. When the prediction failed, he pulled the article from his website, but continued to teach on the "significance" of the tetrad.” Then you have John Hagee who usurped this blood moon prediction from Biltz. He said in a prophetic sermon dated October 28, 2012(you can watch the video of this three part sermon), He then had his book The Coming Four Blood Moons come out in 2013. At the very beginning of his sermon he said the coming four blood moons points to a world shaking event that will happen between these two dates.” Of course now he changes it to mean a sign of things to come. Be wary of anyone telling you they have figured out a pattern or hidden numerical messages.
Then concerning our friend Harold Camping “(CNN) – Theirs had been an unwavering belief, the sort that inspired some to quit jobs, leave their homes and walk away from family and friends to issue a doomsday warning. Without question, they believed May 21, 2011 would be the day that Jesus Christ would return and rapture them - and a select 2 to 3 percent of the world’s population - up to heaven. Everyone left behind would be on a crash course to final destruction, scheduled for October 21. “The 21st of May came and went, and with it Harold Camping’s prediction of the coming of the Rapture and the day of doom.”
I said to the ladies in our study I can’t wait for October 8 to come. Here is why. From Mr Camping’s (who now knows the truth now by the way- He died in 2013, at age 93) entourage comes e Bible Fellowship’s Chris McCann. “While our planet may have survived September’s “blood moon”, it will be permanently destroyed on Wednesday, 7 October, a Christian organization has warned. The eBible Fellowship, an online affiliation headquartered near Philadelphia, has based its prediction of an October obliteration on a previous claim that the world would end on 21 May 2011. While that claim proved to be false, the organization is confident it has the correct date this time. “According to what the Bible is presenting it does appear that 7 October will be the day that God has spoken of: in which, the world will pass away,” said Chris McCann, the leader and founder of the fellowship, an online gathering of Christians headquartered in Philadelphia. October 7, 2015, is the likely end of the world. “It’ll be gone forever. Annihilated.” The modern-day prophet concluded, “there is a strong likelihood” the world will end, but offered the disclaimer: “there’s an unlikely possibility that it will not”. McCann believes that Camping’s 21 May 2011 prediction did have some truth, however. That day was declared to be “judgment day” because it was actually the day God stopped the process of selecting which churchgoers will survive Wednesday’s massacre, McCann said.” Just so you know God’ prophets did not speak like that.
This morning I was awake around six thinking about life on earth after it had been destroyed yesterday. My wife who now had to get ready for work since we were still here said you should see the moon. I looked out and just smiled because it was absolutely perfect. The stars, moon and planets right where God put them. God’s amazing creation was once again saying, Romans 1:19 “since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Thanks too Google you too can learn something about astronomy. I looked up October 8, 2015 and to my surprise here is what I found. Space.com said, “If you’re delighted by the ever-changing sky, here are some of its brightest inhabitants to watch for this week just before dawn. Just before dawn, you'll be able to view four bright planets. And now that October is here, and the days are getting shorter for those of us in the northern hemisphere, the sun rises around 7 a.m., so you don't have to get up particularly early to check out the predawn view. Venus, as usual, is the brightest of the bunch, with Jupiter close behind. Mars and Mercury are more challenging, and you may need binoculars to spot them. Watch them over the next few weeks, and you'll see a changing pattern of bright objects.”
God continues to say, “Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” I am amazed at how many say this verse does not mean what it says, but the failed predictions prove otherwise. We are also reminded that every time we see the sun rise and set his promise to David continues. The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah 33:20 “This is what the Lord says: ‘If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time, 21 then my covenant with David my servant—and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me—can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. 22 I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.” Psalm 89:35 “Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness— and I will not lie to David— 36 that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun; 37 it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.” So even though the kingdoms of Israel were turned over to the enemy, there will always be a remnant. Jesus also said in Matthew 24:4 “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.” Jeremiah 23:32 “Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares the Lord. “They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least,” declares the Lord.” 1 John 2:26 “I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.” This is why we desperately need the truth of the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 13:1 “The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: ‘Hear the word of the Lord! 3 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! 4 Your prophets, Israel, are like jackals among ruins. 5 You have not gone up to the breaches in the wall to repair it for the people of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord. 6 Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. Even though the Lord has not sent them, they say, “The Lord declares,” and expect him to fulfil their words. 7 Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying divinations when you say, “The Lord declares,” though I have not spoken? 8 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.”
You notice what happens is these people will not be prepared. I find it interesting that many of these false prophets preach the book of revelation emphatically yet they lead the world astray with their teaching. Revelation 12:9 “The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” These men and women are leading the world astray with their teaching. I ask how can you or why would you be associated with anything they teach as they are collaborating with satan. Yes I know that is scary. 1 Timothy 4:1 “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” Paul charged Timothy to oppose false teachers 1 Timothy 1:3 “As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith.”
The more I study this the more I continue to believe the church lies in desolation just as we had been warned. People are being lead astray by the likes of Camping and Hagee and countless others both individually and whole denominations who are exactly what scripture describes as false prophets but yet people still lift them up and they still listen to them. The problem with this is these false prophets are leading people astray. Year after year these false prophets say the end is going to be… But sadly the more it happens the more carefree people get about the end, even the ones who are supposed to be waiting for the end. They started saying 2 Peter 3:4 “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” On the surface Hagee seems to be speaking for God but actually he is working for satan. He has people turning to astrology (the study of how the positions of the stars and movements of the planets have a supposed influence on events and on the lives and behavior of people.) instead of turning to the creator of the universe. Deuteronomy 4:19 “And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.” Jeremiah 8:2 “They will be exposed to the sun and the moon and all the stars of the heavens, which they have loved and served and which they have followed and consulted and worshiped. They will not be gathered up or buried, but will be like dung lying on the ground.” The more this happens the less people will listen. You can only cry wolf so many times as the fable goes. “To raise a false alarm, to ask for assistance when you don't need it, and by extension, to exaggerate or lie. The phrase comes from the Aesop fable, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” in which a young shepherd found it amusing to make villagers think a wolf is attacking his flock. When they came to his rescue, they learned of the false alarm. However, when a wolf actually menaced the flock, the villagers disregarded the shepherd's calls for help, and the wolf ate the flock (and in some versions the boy)” Jesus warned us about this already. Just so you know there are wolves menacing the flock. Matthew 7:15 [ True and False Prophets ] “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”
These end time predictions were summarized by saying, “Historically, failed prophecies tend to result in disillusionment, with members deserting the group, or, more typically, a faith-saving (and face-saving) statement to the effect that while divine revelation remains infallible, human calculation is not. In short: The math was off, and it’s back to the drawing board. If the logic seems a bit self-serving, recall that in the apocalyptic mind-set, faith precedes theory, and theory informs the evidence. Not that any of this will preclude the appearance of future doomsday predictions. “Apocalypse,” Frank Kermode once observed, “can be disconfirmed without being discredited.” The massive 2012 phenomenon [based on the Mayan “Long Count” calendar] lurks just over the horizon. Even if the media and the public are over-saturated right now, the 2012 event promises to be as big as Y2K. After that, when the predicted events of the 21st of December 2012 fail to occur, a new generation of end-time prophecies will spring up. And that’s about the only sure prediction that one can make.” If you look at Wikipedia’s List of dates predicted for apocalyptic events you will see that we are still here in spite of the lunacy of these predictions.

The bible is very clear that the end will come. 1 Corinthians 15:51 “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. 2 Peter 3:8 “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. 14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
Listen to the word of God. Don’t get caught up in lunarcy and be deceived. More on Hagee found in September 27 and October 4 sermon.
