Yesterday I talked about fearing God so that you will not fear anything or anyone. The only way that fearlessness can happen is by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. As we join with the remnant and rebuild the fallen church, we look to God for strength. Someone wrote, “God is looking for a remnant that are calling out day and night for His glory in the world to be revealed and Gospel to be shared.” The remnant are those who looking to the word of God as their example and strength. God is calling us to help rebuild his church in this country. Our task is simply to trust and obey and watch God work. At this point satan’s job is easy, as most in our country do not realize they are off course. The reason for this lack of direction is the original GPS has been set aside for other tools and the bible collects dust on the shelf. In addition to this there are those who are using the bible but to their own benefit and make it say what they want it to say. The true church, the remnant of God’s people, depend on the word of God for the guidance. As God raises up the remnant there will be great opposition to the rebuilding. We join with the people of God and say, “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” (Nehemiah 2:17) We say this in the face of opposition, as there will be resistance.
“Nehemiah 4:7 But when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem’s walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. 8 They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. 9 But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat. 10 Meanwhile, the people in Judah said, “The strength of the labourers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.” 11 Also our enemies said, “Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work.”
12 Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, “Wherever you turn, they will attack us.”13 Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. 14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” 15 When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work.”
As we rebuild, we turn to the Lord for protection. We will not be afraid. As God said to Joshua and all these people, “get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. 7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
So will you fight for your families, your sons and daughters, your wives and your homes? Will you rise up in obedience to the Lord God? satan wants them for eternity. Are you going to sit by and let that happen? There is great deception in the land. Rise up people of God and do not be deceived. Keep building on the word of God! Joshua 21:45 “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”
2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”
