Last night during our Revival prayer time we talked about not giving up in prayer. Many times our prayers are not answered in our time and satan tries to discourage us. The same goes for revival. It will come because we are seeking God for it. It will come because we depend on the promises of God to be fulfilled. It will come because God will keep his promise to David. We need to be a people who love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” God is looking for those who seek Him wholeheartedly. He is looking for the faithful but (Luke 18) Jesus said, however, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Don’t give up or make your own plans just because things don’t happen according to your timing. Joshua 24 says, “Hold fast to the Lord as you have until now. Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed” Solomon said in 1 Kings 8:56 “Praise be to the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through His servant Moses” In God’s time, God’s plan will be accomplished. 2 Peter 3:8 “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
We can apply this to holding fast to God. In his time he will answer when we call. Like Daniel the answer is already on the way. Daniel 9:20 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill— 21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Daniel 10 “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. 12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”
First of all like Daniel we confess our sins and the sins of our fathers and ancestors. Even though we do not deserve it, we cry out to God for His mercy. We plead with the 19 Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”
So as we wait, hold fast to the word knowing that your prayers have been heard and every promise will be fulfilled but we must be obedient to the God. 2 Peter 3:4 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Not only do we need to prepare for the return of Jesus we need to live holy and blameless lives while we wait on Him for His promises to be fulfilled.
